Children photography

There are never as big changes in us humans than what happens in the first 12 months “earthside”. From being so tiny that you had room in your mother’s belly, to developing into your own little individual. My desire is to capture moments that represent the treasure, and that reflect the little personality that is in the process of developing.

When should the photos be taken?

My recommendation for the best photos is that the child is from 12 months and up.

How much does the photography cost?

Children’s photography costs from NOK 1,595 (only photography, no pictures)

How much does a picture cost?

A picture has a price according to size and design, and therefore varies greatly. You will get help with this during the viewing class. Please see our price list below.

Should I bring something?

Food, drink and snacks are the absolute last aid during photography. It disturbs more than it helps. Feel free to bring it, but don’t bring it out if I don’t ask for it. Nobody wants pictures of the child with a mouth full of biscuits…

Teddy bears and pacifiers should be far down in the bag before you come in to me. Meetings with me must be positive and exciting. I think it can be nice to include “favorite cuddly teddy bear” in the pictures. But it can actually be very disturbing for the child and the focus disappears. Then we’d rather take it at the end if that’s desired.

Clothes

Bring two or three sets of clothes. Two for the inside pictures and one for the outside pictures. I recommend neutral colors. Avoid stripes, checks and logos. This steals attention from the face. It is also very nice to have bare arms and legs on the little ones. It is also important that the clothes fit well. Knit because the pictures are lovely! Don’t forget to think about the shoes when outside the photos will be taken. They will look good and should therefore match the rest of the clothes. Use extra time to choose clothes. It is incredibly important and has a great impact on how the image will turn out in the end. Iron the shirt or hang the dress the day before. If you need help choosing clothes, I can send tips and suggestions!

Prepare the child

Talk to the child that you are going for a photo shoot and that it will be great fun. Call me by my name (Frida) and not as the Photographer, it can scare the child and they become skeptical before they have even met me.

How long does it take?

The photography itself in the studio goes quickly, about 30-40 minutes. Outdoor photography for about 1 hour. Combination inside and outside approx. 1.5 hours. The small children get bored quickly so we don’t have much time. I play and snap my way towards the camera. If you experience the photography as chaotic and fast, then that is very common.

Can we move the appointment if I have booked outdoor photography and bad weather has been reported?

We all know how unstable the weather is here in Rogaland. If bad weather is reported that day, I will find a new time for you as soon as possible.

The child fell ill the same day/slept poorly. What am I doing?

If the child is not having a good day, I would be grateful if you would call me and move the class! Coming here with a child who is not in good shape does not work. We need well-behaved children to take good pictures.
